The Truth About My Game I’m Earnest, and I’m an over 50-year-old golfer, with a bad back, and limited flexibility who spent far too many years chasing a “perfect” swing that only exists on the PGA Tour. Like most weekend warriors, I was bombarded with complex swing mechanics and tips meant for 25-year-old athletes with unlimited practice time.
The result? Inconsistency, frustration, and a scorecard that stayed stubbornly in the 100s.
My “Aha” Moment
I realized my rounds weren’t all being ruined on the tee box. My scores were dying in what I call the “Death Zone”—that 150yards and in window where a “good” shot is expected, but a “fat” or “thin” shot is what actually happens.
I decided to stop trying to play “Hero Golf” and started focusing on one thing: The Mid-Range Swing.
